Wide Receiver  Mater Dei Marcus Harris Discusses The Oregon Ducks Offer, Latest In Recruitment

The preseason No. 2 Mater Dei Monarchs generated a lot of buzz last week when they traveled to Las Vegas to compete against the No. 6 Bishop Gorman Gaels on a big platform. The Gaels made it difficult for Mater Dei, but they managed to win 24-21.

Marcus Harris, a wide receiver who laid out for a long touchdown in the comeback effort, was one player who had a direct hand in the victory on Friday night.

The wide receiver for 2025 has received an offer from Oregon, and he recently discussed the news with Ducks Digest.

The 6-foot-175-pound wide receiver from Southern California was able to visit a number of illustrious schools this summer, with Texas, Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama standing out.

Oregon was the most recent school to enter his recruitment, and he is undoubtedly interested in it.

Harris described his response to the offer as “like a dream come true for me.” “I’ve always wished to visit, receive an offer from, and speak with any coaches there. Being able to identify with Oregon has always been important to me. Since I was eight or nine years old, I have been a fan. I was truly shocked by it.”

He had been expecting the offer because of his frequent correspondence with the Ducks in the past.

I’ve been speaking with Coach (Colin) Lockett and Coach (Rashad) Wadood, the new coach who just started,” he stated. “He and I have been conversing for a moment. I was able to develop a relationship with one of the coaches once they recognized me from Texas.”

Why is he so interested in ducks?

“Just the atmosphere and the manner in which they play elite football. I’ve heard that the atmosphere at games is insane, “said he. “I’ve always wanted to take part in those kinds of games. I enjoy competing in large-scale events because it makes me feel wonderful. Even though I haven’t been able to visit, I already know from talking to other people that it’s a fantastic place to be.”

Harris has one scheduled visit for September at this point in the season.

I’m going to the Oregon-BYU game for an unofficial visit, that much is certain, he declared. But I’m not aware of any other visits as of yet.
