The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance returned for the first celebration of its 18th iteration in the spring of 2022, and the lineup for the fall GrassRoots festival has been fully announced with plenty of new acts on the stages at Shakori in addition to all-time favorites Donna The Buffalo and Dr. Bacon!
The 18th Annual Fall Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival will take place from October 6-9, and the initial lineup includes performances by Donna The Buffalo, two-time Grammy winner Eric Krasno Trio, Kaleta & Super Yamba Band, Driftwood, Jimkata, and Hayley Jane, Dr. Bacon, The Bones of J.R. Jones, Ellis Dyson & The Shambles, and The Get Right Band. The festival will also feature Ellis Dyson
The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is an event that is put on by a non-profit organization for the benefit of another non-profit organization, the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center. Rural areas in Chatham, Orange, and Durham counties have access to music and art programs at the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center that are either completely free or offered at a significant discount.
Shakori Park is transformed into a world-class festival site twice a year for the GrassRoots music festival, which has been running for close to twenty years now. Musicians from all over the world come to perform for both locals and visitors to the park.
Tickets for a single day or all four days can be purchased for a total cost of $145 right now. Tickets can also be purchased for just one day. In addition, people who are interested in helping out with the festival in exchange for a ticket can participate in one of the many volunteer opportunities that are available at Shakori Hills.
