According to the Jackson police department, a motorcyclist who was 38 years old passed away after being involved in a collision with a car on Friday morning.
A collision involving many vehicles occurred at the intersection of Cooper Street and Porter Street in the vicinity of the northern city limits of Jackson, Mississippi, at around 6:45 in the morning on August 5. Officers from the Jackson Police Department arrived at the scene.
According to the police, the driver of the motorcycle, who has been identified as Tyrel Caldwell of Portage, was pronounced dead at the site not long after the officers arrived.

Caldwell was riding a Honda motorcycle southbound on Cooper Street when, according to the police, he entered the lane designated for left turns in order to pass a car in front of him that was slowing down in order to make a right-hand turn.
A Chevrolet Trailblazer that had stopped off of Porter in order to make a left turn onto Cooper was struck by a motorcycle that was still heading south in the lane designated for left turns while it was in the lane designated for left turns.
A woman of 42 years old was the only one in the Trailblazer, and she was also the driver. The authorities have not yet disclosed whether or whether she sustained injuries in the collision.
According to the authorities, there is no indication that drugs or alcohol had a role in the incident, and Caldwell was protected by a helmet at the time.
After the collision that occurred early on Friday morning, both lanes of Cooper Street at Porter Street were made unavailable for use for a period of several hours. The Michigan Department of Transportation made the announcement at 7:07 in the morning on Friday that the intersection would be closed.
