According to reports from the Ephrata Borough Police Department, a resident of Ephrata equipped with a pellet gun robbed two Turkey Hill locations in the borough between the months of June and July.
Robbery, unlawful restraint, simple assault, and possession of instruments of crime are the charges that have been brought against Colby Quinn Mummaw, who is 27 years old and lives in Ephrata.
According to a news release, the first robbery took place on Monday, June 20 at 10:56 p.m. at Turkey Hill located in the 900 block of South State Street. According to the police report, Mummaw walked inside the business, pointed a gun at the cashier, and then tied her hands behind her back. After that, Mummaw removed an unknown sum of money from the safe and then departed the building.

According to the authorities, the second robbery took place at approximately 4:23 in the morning on Thursday, July 21, at Turkey Hill located in the 3000 block of Rothsville Road. After entering the store, Mummaw demanded money from the cashier while holding a pellet pistol to his head. When the clerk declined, Mummaw shot the clerk and then fled the store.
The police went to Mummaw’s house on South Maple Street after following some investigative leads there. A search warrant was conducted on the property as well as a vehicle, and during the search, the officers discovered various items that were connected to the robberies. These items include:
- CO2 cartridges
- A CO2 pistol
- -Zip ties
According to the announcement, Mummaw is presently being held at Lancaster County Prison for violating the terms of his state parole. According to the statement, he will be arraigned on the charges related to the robberies at a later date.
