Season 3 of the anime “Fire Force” is reportedly in production, according to a tweet posted on April 29 by the well-known and usually reliable Twitter leaker and insider SugoiLITE.
The good news is that extensions for anime are typically based on two factors: popularity and source material, therefore Fire Force’s comeback was practically inevitable.
You don’t have to take our word for it that Fire Force is a fan-favorite show; the numbers speak for themselves. On IMDB, Fire Force has a 7.6/10 rating, while on Rotten Tomatoes it has an 83% approval rating, and on Crunchyroll, it has a 4.1/5 rating; both seasons have received 7.69/10 and 7.78/10 ratings on MyAnimeList, respectively, out of a total of 890,000.
Despite the fact that these numbers don’t have anything to do with Japanese performance, which is perhaps more crucial in renewals than foreign success, it’s safe to say that Fire Force was successful enough to warrant a third anime season.
Next, we have the source material, and there’s plenty of it to make a third season of the anime. Until volume 20/chapter 174 of the manga was converted into anime, as stated by Anime Geek (previously Monsters & Critics).
In 2021, Fire Force will have 48 episodes, split between two seasons of 24 episodes each. Between July 6, 2019, and December 28, 2019, the first season of the show aired. The second and final season broadcast from July 4, 2020, through December 12, 2020, a full year later. Based on our current knowledge, this is how the Fire Force anime is set up.
There has been no word on a third season as of May 2022. The anime only covered up to the beginning of the second season of the manga, so there was a lot of content to adapt. Furthermore, since Fire Force is not yet complete, there would have been even more stories to adapt if the creators had chosen to do so.

Fire Force Season 3 Plotline
The Great Cataclysm happened 250 years ago on the made-up planet. Half of humanity was killed, and those who survived fled to the safety of the Tokyo Empire. There was a plague that wiped off civilization and turned the survivors into mindless beings known as Internals.
To combat the rising number of Internals, the Tokyo Empire in the year 198 enlisted the help of a specialized firefighting unit known as the Fire Force. The main protagonist of Fire Force is a man named Shinra Kusakabe who has the ability to set fire to his feet. In a tragic fire, he also lost his mother and younger brother.
Soon he found out that his brother was not dead but had been kidnapped by the White Clads, the group responsible for the Infernal attacks. Shinra’s mission is to prevent a recurrence of The Great Cataclysm and save humanity from those who would use it as a tool for manipulation.

Fire Force Season 3 Release Date
Fire Force season 3 was officially announced on May 17th. Along with the domestic website, the show’s Japanese Twitter feed shared the great news that production had begun on season three.
“Fire Force Ichinosho” 2019 The sequel to “Fire Force” will be released in 2020. And this time it’s not a prequel… The TV animation Fire Force Sannosho has been approved for production. This is a paraphrase from FireForce PR’s Twitter account.
However, thanks to a number of leaks over the past month, anime series fans have been rather confident in the impending nature of this revelation for some time.
Is there any word on whether or not the AMPHIBIA animated series will be renewed for a second season?
Although the announcement of Fire Force season 3’s return was met with joy by fans, a release date was not provided. But we can make some guesses based on prior seasons’ production and the timeline for David Productions, the studio behind Fire Force.

There will be a seven to the eight-month gap between the announcement of Season 1 in November 2018 and its premiere in July 2019, and the announcement of Season 2 in December 2019 and its premiere in July 2020.
Given the length of the production cycle, some viewers would have guessed that the anime will air again in April 2022. Yet, it’s possible that David Production’s busy schedule accounts for the silence surrounding season 3.
Fire Force Season 3 Trailer
As you may have guessed, there is no promotional video for Fire Force Season 3. Why? Well, the simple reason is that production on Fire Force Season 3 has stalled. As stated above, the series will undoubtedly return, but a trailer won’t be released until we hear official confirmation of the production start.
Depending on when the creators want to release the third season, we might not see a trailer until late in 2022 at the earliest. The most likely release year is 2023.
