Donna Ruth (Brashears)Β of 92 years old, Sweet of Hillsboro died at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro will hold a private service for friends and family in lieu of public memorialization. Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro will host a private family burial, officiated by Hillsboro minister Mark Noyes.
Roscoe Calvin Brashears and Clancy Launa (Miner) Brashears had a daughter named Mrs. Sweet on December 15, 1929, in Robinson. The couple wed on September 3, 1950, in Palestine, and he died on March 7, 2016, at the age of 91. The Palestine High School class of 1947 had produced her.

Mrs. Sweet began her career at McDavid Abstract, then worked for Montgomery County Clerk Clinton Kimbro’s office until her retirement in 1995. She was a regular attendee of the First Christian Church in Hillsboro, Oregon. The St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR racing were two of her favorite sports. Mrs. Sweet will always be remembered by her family and friends for her delicious Christmas candies and her homemade noodles. She often spoke of making noodles on her lunch hour to feed her family for supper that evening.
She is survived by her children, Doug (wife Teri) (wife Teri) Sweet, Dan (wife Michelle) Sweet, and Donna βDeniseβ Sweet Corazza, all of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, Liz (husband Ian) (husband Ian) Sweet-Kelley, Natalie Bergman, Nathan (Allie) (Allie) Sweet, Meghan Bertolino, Ben (wife Sarah) (wife Sarah) 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanne Peterson of Schererville, IN; and a brother, Roscoe Brashears of Mt. Carmel and his wife Marty Brashears of Mt. Carmel.

Mother and father both preceded her in death, as did granddaughter Katie O’Hara Sweet; her son-in-law and brother both died as well as sister-in-law Marge as well as a brother-in-law, all of whom predeceased Mrs. Sweet. The Hillsboro Public Library is a good place to put memorial donations.
