Elvis and Anabelle Plot

Teen Elvis Moreau cares for his father Charlie and operates their funeral home. Charlie has been mentally challenged for years, so Elvis took over operating the home. However, he doesn’t have his embalming license, so Charlie officially performs the duties. Elvis maintains images of the finished corpses in a scrapbook.

Nearby, Anabelle Leigh is a pageant girl, living with her mother Geneva and alcoholic stepfather Jimmy. She has bulimia and Jimmy undoubtedly sexually abuses her. Geneva put her into beauty pageants very young, expecting they could have financial independence from men.

Moments after qualifying for the nationals, Anabelle’s heart stops on stage. Sent to Moreaus’ Funeral Home, Elvis begins working on her.

Entranced, he kisses her and he accidentally captures it on tape. A gust of wind rips open the window, when he shuts it, Anabelle instantly gasps awake. Shocked, he phones the police and wakes Charlie, reminding him he was working on Anabelle.

Anabelle is returned to Geneva and Jimmy is significantly transformed. She neither has an eating condition nor is she interested in pageants, but Geneva still pressures her to continue.

Elvis and Anabelle Movie Reviews

Elvis (Max Minghella) is a mortician when the story of “Elvis and Anabelle” begins. The character of Elvis Presley is initially startling. His preoccupation with the deceased is morbid and out of character for him. He’s far too unlikable to be tolerated.

With Blake Lively as Anabelle, our options are limited. She’s a beauty queen from Texas with anorexia. The film’s lone likable character is a Texas beauty queen, and I think that’s a big mistake.

I’m not interested in or invested in the people in this romance drama since they’re so out-of-the-ordinary. It’s possible that “Elvis and Anabelle” will appeal to those who enjoy supernatural-themed romance tales. However, this film is a miss for fans of well-written characters. “Wake” (2009), on the other hand, is a better choice. However, while “Wake” begins with an embalming room and a girl who doesn’t seem at home in this world, its bizarre twists and turns are more logical progressions.
