Jujutsu Kaisen, a popular dark fantasy anime and manga series that premiered in 2018, stars Yuji Itadori as the protagonist.
He is voiced by Junya Enoki in the Japanese version and Adam McArthur in the English version of the anime series. This isn’t the first time McArthur has voiced Marco Diaz in a video game.
Yuji Itadori’s Biography
Yuji is a friendly and laid-back high school student. His grandfather’s death inspired him to help others so that he might die “surrounded by loved ones” and to make it a priority to guarantee that the people around him had what he views to be “a proper death.”. He becomes the King of Curses’ vessel after ingesting one of Sukuna’s fingers during a fortuitous encounter with Megumi Fushiguro.

Yuji Itadori’s Appearance
As a teenager, Yuji stands at an average height and has huge pale brown eyes and spiky pink hair that’s styled in an undercut. As a Jujutsu High School student, he is required to wear the school’s custom-made uniform. In addition to the black long-sleeve shirt and red sweatshirt, his costume includes black slacks and red sneakers.
Yuji Itadori’s Power and Abilities
In spite of his lack of supernatural abilities, Yuji possesses superhuman strength, as evidenced by his ability to throw a car. Because his cursed energy can’t keep up with his speed, his attacks have a delayed effect, resulting in two hits: one from the first physical collision and a second from the cursed energy. This is referred to as his “Divergent Fist,” however it is not a legitimate Cursed Technique because anyone can conceivably learn it.
Sukuna’s Cursed Technique is rumored to be in his future. It’s possible for him to use a technique known as Black Flash, which distorts space when applied within 0.000001 seconds after a physical impact with a cursed energy source. The cursed power flashes black, resulting in a more powerful attack that has a 2.5 times greater potency than a normal hit.
It is currently possible for Yuji to perform Black Flash four times in a row and nine times total. As a student, he is proven to be a talented, curious, and earnest one. Satoru’s Movie Appreciation Training and Aoi Todo’s guide come easily to him, as does his ability to grow. Akutami thinks he’s the best cook in the first-year trio. Yuji has demonstrated that he can quickly learn a new weapon.
Yuji Itadori’s Interesting Facts
Yuji Itadori Is Physically Strong
Yuji Itadori enrols in Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School after meeting Megumi Fushiguro and Satoru Gojo, his mentor. Humans can become “Jujutsu Sorcerers” at this school by learning to use a natural resource called Cursed Energy to battle Cursed Spirits. When Yuji first enters the game, he has no knowledge of how to use Cursed Energy and must rely on his brute power to win most of his encounters.
His track and field coach lets Yuji leave the squad and join the occult study group after he wins a shot put competition in Episode 1 . Yuji not only succeeds, but he smashes a world record and reveals to the audience that he is supernaturally talented even before finding the world of Jujutsu Sorcery.
In addition, even when he has mastered the use of Cursed Energy, Yuji prefers to fight hand-to-hand. Instead of learning how to battle with summoned creatures like Fushiguro, he uses Cursed Energy to bolster his attacks. In “Jujutsu Kaisen” Season 1, his formidable strength remains the driving force behind his combat strategy.
Yuji Can Resist Sukuna’s Power
Sukuna takes over Yuji Itadori’s body after he swallows his finger in Episode 1 and easily exorcises his Cursed Spirit antagonist. Fortunately for Megumi, Yuji/Sukuna regains control of his body just as he is about to be attacked by Megumi Fushiguro, who uses this as an opportunity to assault Yuji/Sukuna.
In the end, Satoru Gojo wants to see if Yuji can hold off Sukuna from regaining control of his body. He affirms that Yuji is capable of resisting Sakuna’s influence to some extent. Sukuna’s fingers are transferred to Yuji by Gojo as a result. As a result, Yuji would have been killed if he could not stop Sukuna from resurfacing.
Yuji’s natural capacity to use Jujutsu Sorcery to preserve his own life is crucial to his development as a Jujutsu Sorcerer. Yuji must develop into a formidable warrior in order to handle his new role as a container for Sukuna’s Cursed Energy-filled fingers. This is no small task. To be a Jujutsu Sorcerer, he must be able to withstand the effect of Sukuna’s spirit, which resides within him.

Yuji Itadori Can Use Cursed Energy To Power His Fists
After dying and coming back to life in the wake of his battle with the Finger Bearer, Satoru Gojo begins to formally teach Yuji Itadori how to manifest Cursed Energy at will. Gojo explains that Cursed Energy is akin to raw electricity, and Cursed Techniques — abilities fueled by Cursed Energy — are like home appliances in comparative complexity. Yuji, however, is unable to utilize Cursed Techniques given his introduction to the world of Jujutsu Sorcery as a teenager.
Cursed Techniques, Gojo reveals, are based on inherited ability and generally cannot be developed. Instead, Yuji learns to incorporate the manifestation of raw Cursed Energy into his existing fighting style.
This culminates with Yuji’s creation of the Divergent Fist attack, a punch that hits twice in short succession. First, he strikes with his natural physical strength before delivering a subsequent blow consisting of pure Cursed Energy. In Episode 12, while fighting Mahito, a preternaturally gifted Cursed Spirit, Yuji’s Divergent Fist proves especially useful because the second strike comes before Mahito uses his ability to regenerate after sustaining an injury. In doing this, Yuji makes direct contact with Mahito’s soul.

Yuji Itadori Learns The Black Flash Technique
During the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event in the second half of Season 1, Yuji Itadori’s development as a Jujutsu Sorcerer takes a significant leap forward. First up, Yuji takes on Aoi, a student at Jujutsu High School in Kyoto. When Aoi discovers that he and Yuji are drawn to the same type of lady, he comes to regard Yuji as a long-lost buddy and vows to help Yuji become a better warrior.
Yuji learns the Black Flash method as a result of their weird friendship. Divergent Fist isn’t a fan of Aoi, who claims that the Cursed Energy Yuji unleashes after his first punch is squandered. Aoi prefers that Yuji apply the Cursed Energy to his attack just before it hits the ground, and she works with him to help him learn how to do so.
Then, when Yuji is up against the Special Grade Cursed Spirit Hanami, Aoi refuses to assist him until he can successfully employ the Black Flash. At the start of the fight, Yuji successfully executes the attack, which he subsequently goes on to repeat with ease. As a pinnacle of Yuji’s combat abilities, the first time he uses the Black Flash against a foe stronger than himself shows the value of physical strength, his relationship with Cursed Energy, and his bravery in learning to use it.
