Kokushibo: Personality, Abilities, and Fight Method

In Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Kokushibo is a key supporting villain. A demon that is a member of the Twelve Kizuki, he holds the highest rank, “Upper-Rank One.”Β  When Kokushibo was a human in the Golden Age of Demon Slayers, Michikatsu Tsugikuni, a former Demon Slayer and older twin brother of Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the strongest Demon Slayer that ever existed, was born. One of the Twelve Kizuki’s ancestors is also the one who turned Zenitsu Agatsuma’s senior into a demon and made him a member of the Twelve Kizuki.

Β Kokushibo’s Appearance

With long and spiky black hair that had crimson tips, Kokushibo was transformed into a demon with a pale complexion, a tall and strong frame, and a ponytail. Three pairs of eyes on his face with yellow iris and red sclera with black straight lines extending from each iris are his most prominent feature. The characters for “Upper Rank and “One ” appear on his middle set of eyes. On the left side of his forehead and the right side of his chin, Kokushibo possesses red marks that resemble flames. Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira, described his appearance as regal and stately.

Nagagi kimono with bee-hive pattern and black umanori-styled hakama pants with white uwa-obi were Kokushibo’s attire. This sword had eyes in the gap between its tsuka ito wrapping and grip, which was attached to his waist. Later, it was discovered that the tsuba blade had eyes and veins. Aside from the number of eyes, pronounced eyebrows, and less pale skin, Kokushibo’s look as a human was essentially identical to that of his demon form. His eyes were human-like in appearance, with dark purple irises and white sclera. In contrast to the purple-and-black patterned kimono he wears as an adult, he was typically spotted wearing a white kimono as a child.

A more grotesque and monstrous form of Kokushibo emerged after he was beheaded by Sanemi Shinazugawa and Gyomei Himejima. His fangs were protruding; large white horns on the front and back of his head, pointed nails, red outgrowths on his face, his pupils looking in different directions, shorter and messier hair, several thin tubes poking out of his body, and numerous black and red scorpion tail-like appendages haphazardly growing all across his entire body.

Β Kokushibo’s Personality

With so little information available concerning the Demon Ranks, not much was known about Kokushibo when he was a demon. He was a strict adherent to the Twelve Kizuki’s rules, punctual, and respectful of the hierarchy, as evidenced by his attendance at the Upper-Rank gathering. A humble character, Kokushibo never shied away from admitting his mistakes or lamenting the difficulties he faced. Muzan Kibutsuji’s goals were always at the forefront of his activities, and he demonstrated an unwavering dedication to him.

Despite his outward humility and reluctance, he was frigid and harsh in his comments, especially when disciplining others. His threats sounded like something out of a horror movie, and he wanted total submission.

It has been established that Kokushibo enjoys challenging opponents, such as helping to dress Muichiro Tokito’s amputated hand, complimenting Gyomei Himejima for his exceptional human abilities, and sparing Akaza because he enjoys the challenge of facing him. Due to the fact that Gyomei was about to die from unlocking his Demon Slayer Marks, however, he felt irritated and pity for him.

When it came to his past, he had a complicated relationship. Muichiro, his descendant, was praised for his skills and tenacity by his ancestor, and he made a move to turn Muichiro into a demon to save his life. When discussing Muichiro and his powers, he said that they were the consequence of his “cells” passing down.

The demon’s conversation with Gyomei throughout their combat revealed he was terrified of death. Gyomei’s markings showed and Kokushibo lamented the loss of a brilliant warrior, encouraging him to become a demon so that he may further his training. As a result of Gyomei’s outraged denial of his proposal, he appeared astonished.

Β Kokushibo’s Abilities

With a single technique, Kokushibo defeats all three of Hashira’s marked opponents at once.

Demon Kokushibo was the second-strongest demon in existence after Muzan Kibutsuji, the Demon King, in terms of overall abilities. He was shown to be the strongest of the Twelve Kizuki. In his time as one of the series’ oldest demons, he had faced many Demon Slayers and gained a wealth of combat experience and expertise. At least two Hashira were defeated by him when he successfully deciphered their tactics and abilities.

There are few people with his level of polish and size in the universe, but that doesn’t stop him from becoming an elite fighter who uses both Total Concentration Breathing and the blood of Muzan, the organization’s most powerful body-enhancing donor.

Kokushibo was able to easily defeat two Hashira thanks to his overall powers and skills, and he went on to battle Sanemi and Gyomei, the current generation’s most formidable Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps. The physical talents of Gyomei and Sanemi, who were both awakened by their Demon Slayer Marks, were not a problem for him, even when they were both at their maximum potential. Gyomei Himejima, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Muichiro Tokito, and Genya Shinazugawa, all extremely strong individuals, were able to inflict a substantial injury on him with a combination of their assaults.

To defeat him, the Demon Slayers had no choice but to immobilize him, which meant that Muichiro and Genya would have to perform a Blood Demon Art that would have no effect on Kokushibo’s natural defenses.Β  It wasn’t long before he was able to regrow his severed head and just had the sun as a vulnerability. When Kobushibo realized his hunger for power had transformed him into a monster and caused him to stop regenerating, his will wavered. This, rather than the abilities of his opponents, was the primary cause of Kobushibo’s demise.

Through physical touch, Kokushibo is capable of absorbing the bodies of both humans and demons. Despite the fact that this ability has never been demonstrated, it is said that Kokushibo would absorb the demons he defeated if they were to try it. It is likely that he uses this approach as a quicker alternative to eating humans or Demon Slayers.

When Yoriichi trained Kokushibo, he reawakened his Demon Slayer Mark. Β Though it is unknown what its specific qualities are, it has been shown to greatly enhance Demon Slayer’s talents, making them stronger and faster than they are ordinarily capable of, but at the cost of being cursed to die at age 25. Because demons are immortal, Kokushibo is no longer subject to the curse.

Β Kokushibo’s Fight Method

Kokushibo Tsugikuni, the elder of the Tsugikuni brothers, is the most talented and powerful swordsman of the contemporary age and the second-strongest swordsman in history, after his younger twin brother Yoriichi. In the golden era, his swordsmanship was already exceptional, since he learned them from Yoriichi himself and subsequently remarked that their methods were so perfected and legendary that they had little possibility of them being passed down to future generations.

Using his blade skills, Kokushibo defeated Akaza, hand-to-hand fighting and martial arts prodigy, and Doma. When Sanemi, Muichiro, and Gyomei were marked, he was able to single-handedly take on them, as well as Genya, when he assimilated his blood and gained a little fraction of his strength and had access to Blood Demon Arts, with his great swordsmanship. After developing the Blood Demon Art, Kokushibo was able to increase the lethality and power of his swordsmanship techniques, making every sword swing very deadly.

Breathing Style

When Kokushibo first started using Breathing Styles, he used Moon Breathing. One of the most deadly and potent Breathing Styles we’ve seen so far is his. Slashing with the Blood Demon Art he has, he may unleash a variety of crescent moon blades that vary in length and size. Over the course of his long life, Kokushibo perfected his Breathing Style, creating more than a dozen new techniques in the process.

The Blood Demon Art

The crescent moon-shaped blades were made by Kokushibo. His Blood Demon Art allows him to generate and manipulate a large number of crescent moon-shaped blades from his flesh katana, which he uses in conjunction with his Moon Breathing combat style. Β They are thought to be made of his blood and can be either yellow or blue in color, depending on the source. Unpredictable and unreadable, Kokushibo’s assaults are a result of the chaotic nature of these crescent moon blades, which continually change in size, length and speed.

Using the Blood Demon Art, he is able to unleash a devastating and terrifying arsenal of sword techniques. Without swinging or launching a technique, he appears to be capable of performing Blood Demon Art while holding his katana un-sheathed, allowing him to make crescent moon swords.

His Blood Demon Art is very volatile, making it incredibly difficult for Demon Slayers to avoid. Sanemi said that he could not have resisted Kokushibo’s attacks if it weren’t for his extensive training in demon hunting.
